Together We Dance 3D Art
Yup’ik people in Alaska have enjoyed native dancing for thousands of years. As they celebrate life and all the blessings Ellam Yua has provided.
The original people had come to realize that it was the same person of Jesus Christ sometime after the missionaries had come. The missionaries abolished dancing as a form of evil worship. But it was to honor our creator for the gifts he has provided.
To honor Ellam Yua and to thank all the animals and fish who have sacrificed themselves to the well being of the people. Together the people worked collectively in the sharing of those gifts to family, relatives and those who could not pursue hunting and fishing were given assistance with these blessings.
